Denver Access-a-Ride Transit Survey
The 2016 Regional Transportation District (RTD) Access-a-Ride transit survey focused on the use of paratransit services in Denver, Colorado.
Access-a-Ride provides curbside and door-to-door services in a shared-ride vehicle. Access-a-Ride and RTD’s other paratransit service, Access-a-Cab, are for passengers who cannot independently use other RTD services due to physical or cognitive disabilities. Passengers must be certified for paratransit use under the eligibility guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Transit Agency
BBC Research and Consulting conducted the survey for RTD.
Survey Methodology
The survey was carried out by phone in English and Spanish during a two-week period beginning in November 2016. Random-digit-dialing techniques were employed to invite passengers to participate in the survey, which took about 20 minutes to complete. Participants who could not take the survey immediately were given the option to schedule a call-back at another time.
The survey gathered information about various aspects of participants’ most recent trips, experiences with RTD during the past six months, transit behavior, and demographics.
