Puget Sound Transit Customer Satisfaction Surveys
To assess passenger experiences and needs, Customer Satisfaction surveys were conducted in 2011–2018, 2020, and 2021 in the Puget Sound area of Washington.
Transit Agency
EMC Research conducted the surveys for the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority.
Survey Methodology
Surveys were conducted in English, Spanish, Arabic, Cantonese, Korean, Russian, Tagalog, and Vietnamese.
Data were weighted to reflect the actual distribution of riders based on annual ridership figures.
2011–2018 and 2020
In 2011–2018 and 2020, in-person interviews were carried out with riders via electronic tablets onboard Sound Transit’s system-wide routes to improve understanding of passenger characteristics, experiences, and perceptions.
2021
In 2021, rider interviewers were conducted online, by phone, and in person to determine how COVID-19 service changes affected riders and whether the current system design met customer needs.
