Charging Into the Future: Technical Prowess in Transportation Electrification Safeguards a Stronger, Sustainable Nation

John Farrell

There is broad consensus that minimizing transportation-related emissions is vital to limiting global warming and avoiding many of the worst climate impacts. But an electrified transportation sector is not only a boon to public health and the environment. By maintaining our technical leadership in this area, American companies can lead industries poised to dominate the global market—thereby creating good U.S. jobs, driving economic growth, and ensuring our national security, resilience, and energy independence.

From increased battery ranges and faster charging to lighter materials, more reliable components, and cleaner fuels, technological advances are largely driving these recent shifts to widespread electric vehicle (EV) adoption. Now is not the time to falter in our progress; rather, it’s an imperative for all that we continue pushing the pedal to advance U.S. leadership in the EV transition.
